Aso Sky Hawks and Gboko City Chiefs have qualified for the 2026 Nigeria Premier Basketball League Final 4 after winning their final games in the Final 8 playoffs in Port Harcourt.
Both teams finished the playoff phase strongly and secured progression with their fifth victories of the competition.
Aso Sky Hawks defeat Rivers Hoopers
Aso Sky Hawks produced one of the biggest results of the round with a 74-67 victory over Rivers Hoopers.
The result ended Rivers Hoopers’ six-game winning streak in the Final 8 and ensured that every team in the competition suffered at least one defeat.
Fifth win seals qualification
The victory was Sky Hawks’ fifth win of the playoffs, confirming their place in the Final 4.
It was also an important statement against a Rivers Hoopers side that had been one of the most consistent teams in the tournament.
Gboko City Chiefs edge Lagos Raptors
Gboko City Chiefs also secured qualification with a narrow 78-76 victory over Lagos Raptors.
The contest remained close until the final stages, when Marcus Thomas Jr. scored the decisive points to push the Benue side over the line.
Chiefs also record fifth playoff win
Like Aso Sky Hawks, Gboko City Chiefs finished the Final 8 with five victories, enough to secure progression to the next phase.
The result underlined their consistency throughout the playoff stage.
Maktown Flyers bounce back
Defending champions Maktown Flyers recovered from their earlier defeat to Rivers Hoopers with a 64-54 win over 313 Warriors.
The victory gave the champions a positive finish to the playoff round.
Kano Pillars win but miss Final 4
Kano Pillars recorded their second victory of the playoffs with a 68-53 win over Hoops & Read.
Despite the result, Kano Pillars failed to qualify for the Final 4, while Hoops & Read finished the competition without a win in seven games.

With Aso Sky Hawks and Gboko City Chiefs now through, attention turns to the next stage of the Nigeria Premier Basketball League.
