The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has moved the Matchday 3 fixture between Rangers International and Nasarawa United to the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
The game had originally been scheduled for the Awka Township Stadium, but the venue is unavailable. The match date remains Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Rangers continue to play away from Enugu
Rangers have already had to use alternative venues this season.
Their Matchday 1 league fixture against Katsina United, which ended 1-1, was played at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. Their CAF Champions League first-leg tie against Sobemap of Benin Republic was also staged in Abeokuta.
Dan Anyiam Stadium becomes new venue
The switch to Owerri means Rangers will now host Nasarawa United at a venue already familiar to NPFL clubs this season.
The Dan Anyiam Stadium has hosted other league fixtures, including Kun Khalifat’s goalless draw with Barau FC.
Rangers looking to improve league position
The Flying Antelopes currently sit 16th in the NPFL standings after playing only one league match so far.
Nasarawa United, meanwhile, are 13th with three points from two matches, having recorded a 1-0 victory over Bendel Insurance earlier in the campaign.
CAF success gives Rangers confidence
Rangers head into the fixture after progressing to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Following their penalty shootout victory over Sobemap in Lomé, General Manager Amobi Ezeaku rewarded the squad with $10,000 and urged the players to remain disciplined ahead of tougher challenges.
Attention turns to Nasarawa United
With the venue issue now resolved, Rangers can focus fully on their league clash with Nasarawa United.
The match offers the Enugu club an opportunity to improve their early-season position, while Nasarawa United will look to build on their first three points of the campaign.
