Major Nigerian football supporters clubs have expressed support for the ongoing reforms in the country’s football administration, praising the National Sports Commission (NSC) and President Bola Tinubu for efforts to restructure the game.
The groups, however, stressed that supporters should be treated as important stakeholders and included in decisions shaping the future of Nigerian football.
Five major supporters groups back reforms
The statement was supported by five leading organisations:

Football Fans Club of Nigeria
All Sports Supporters Club
Nigeria Eagles Supporters Club
Their leaders issued a joint communiqué at the National Stadium in Lagos, welcoming the direction of the reforms.
Supporters want a role in restructuring
The groups argued that fans should not be treated as mere spectators during changes to the administration of Nigerian football.
They called for a broad and consultative process involving all recognised stakeholders, including supporters clubs.
Tinubu’s football overhaul receives backing
The statement comes after President Tinubu directed a comprehensive overhaul of Nigerian football governance.
According to the report, the reform process has also received support from international football bodies such as FIFA and CAF.
